the boisterous Bills Mafia
to circle the wagons
on a f r i g i d upstate day

This game capped off
an epic back-to-back day adventure,
with my good pal Rotes,
starting with Red Sox Winter Weekend
in an icy Springfield, Massachusetts—
a dreamy way to spend a January Saturday.
The road to Orchard Park
wasn’t without its challenges.
A flat tire
🛞
on the way to Rochester
threatened to derail the trip,
but we powered through the snowy drive,
grabbed some sleep at the Rotenbergs,
and bundled up
for what Bills fans hoped would be
the slaying of the Chiefs’ dragon.
For a moment,
it felt like the Bills
might finally conquer
Twitter-paying Patty Mahomes.
But reality had other plans.
The Taylor Swift-loving Chiefs
ground out a back-and-forth
27-24 win
to advance to their 79th straight
AFC Championship
(Pats did it first!)

True to Buffalo form,
heartbreak hit hard
as Tyler Bass
banged a bitter 44-yard field goal
w i d e r i g h t
with under two minutes left
that would have tied the game.
Highlights included:
being really fucking cold
in seats surrounded by
ice and beer cans,
bumping into @jason.kelce
as he ripped a bowling ball shot
with Pinto Ron pregame
in the Hammer Lot

for Bills Nation.
