#07:
NEW ENGLAND HOME OPENER
Patriots vs. Seahawks
September 15, 2024
Gillette Stadium | Foxboro, MA
Let’s be honest:
we all knew
the morning of September 15th
would mark
t h e p e a k
of the 2024 Patriots season.
Coming off a big-time
road underdog win
in Cincinnati,
spirits were high.
It was a perfect sunny day
in Foxboro
with the runner-up from Super Bowl XLIX
in town

🥈
(whattup Seahawks!)
That’s why
the Patriots home opener
lands at #7 on my list of
Top 10 Games I attended in 2024.
For one fleeting Sunday,
we were all thinking playoffs
(and hey,
ill be honest,
I was thinking super bowl).
The day started with

If you’ve never tried
their coffee rum
to make an espresso martini
you’re missing out

From there,
we made our way to
Sunday church,
where the great
@father_foxboro_
delivered his home opener sermon.
As always,
his words moved the congregation

I produced
about Father Foxboro
on @bsidesports!
Inside Gillette,
it was a scorcher,
but luckily our seats
were in the shade.
I took in the game
with my buddy @gabesalter7 —
it was our first ever game together,
besides the 8,271 others
we’ve been to together.
As for the game?

Classic
2020s
Patriots,
2020s
Patriots,
heartbreak.
We should have,
could have won,
but we didn’t.
Lost in OT,
and Jerod Mayo
coached like a total woos

😒
Still,
always a damn good time
at Gillette Stadium.
Highlights included
scoring multiple offensive touchdowns
(crazy idea: let’s do that more often),
catching up with long time homie Eric
at halftime,
& forcing Gabe
to wait in the parking lot
while I ran around grabbing
postgame content for @lfgboston.
He wasn’t thrilled,
but hey,
we avoided traffic
and made it to @chipotle by dinner.
Call it a win-win-win-loss
in my book.
